Description | Coalition of Malay-nationalist, conservative parties founded by the 2nd Prime Minister of Malaysia (September 22, 1970 – January 14, 1976) and one of the nation's founding fathers (dubbed the 'Father of Malaysia's Development') Abdul Razak Hussein. Coalition is the third-largest of the nation, holding 42 seats in the Dewan Rakyat. Coalition once held first spot for 61 years under its chairman at the time, the 4th and 7th Prime Minister of Malaysia Mahathir Mohamad, until 2018. Union began as a coalition of nine parties which through the years was reduced to four present day; the United Malays National Organization (PKMB), the Malaysian Chinese Association (PCM), the Malaysian Indian Congress (KIM) and the United Sabah People's Party (PBRS). Alliance is currently chaired by Malaysia's 11th Deputy Prime Minister and the 8th President of the United Malays National Organization, Ahmad Zahid Hamidi. |
