| Description | Alliance of five mostly Southern Italian far-left to Communist parties assembled ahead of general elections planned for September 25, 2022. Alliance is led by the former Mayor of Naples, Luigi De Magistris. Alliance consists of the Power to the People! (Potere al Popolo!, PaP), Party of the South (Partito del Sud, PdS), the Communist Refoundation Party (Partito della Rifondazione Comunista, PRC), ManifestA, and De Magistris' own Democracy and Autonomy (Democrazia e Autonomia, DemA). Alliance calls for a 'strong united left' modelled on Jean-Luc Mélenchon's NUPES in France, and considers the liberal to center-left weak and an 'enemy within'. Party uses the motto "unite the non-aligned with the system" [Unione Popolare (UP)]. |
