Description | Short-lived center-left parliamentary group turned political party launched by five congressmen, at first identified with, and allied to, Peru Libre (PL). Group was led by former Popular Renovation VP candidate and prime minister of Peru from February 1 to 8, 2022, Héctor Valer Pinto. Group began as a bloc friendly to the government of President Pedro Castillo with a focus on re-drafting Peru's constitution, then turned neutral after Valer's dismissal by Castillo on February 8. Party grew to seven members of parliament after the admission of ex Labor Minister Betssy Chávez. Party began to decline in late 2022 after members began to quit, one after another, led first by the departure of Héctor Valer. Party was founded by Guillermo Bermejo, Hamlet Echevarría, Luis Kamiche and Carlos Zeballos [Perú Democrático (PD)]. |
