Description | Center-right, regionalist, Malay-Chinese interests party based in Sarawak. Party began as the United People's Party (UPP), until it rebranded itself after merging with the Wong Soon Koh faction of the Sarawak United People's Party (SUPP) on February 26, 2019. Party spoke out for Sarawak rights, self-determination and local industries, particularly its timber production. Party was founded by MP and former State Minister Wong Soon Koh, who had led the party since November 2020. Wong Soon Koh moved to merge his party with the Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) on July 13, 2023, finally completing the merger ahead of the Chinese New Year in 2024.
