| Description | John Kennedy, a country boy from Zachary, is proud of his Louisiana roots. In every speech he gives Kennedy will say that his hometown is much bigger than when he was growing up. His mother was a schoolteacher and his father a businessman who owned a lumberyard, built homes, and was involved in real estate.
Kennedy left home to attend Vanderbilt University where he triple majored and graduated with honors in Political Science, Philosophy, and Economics. He then attended the University of Virginia for his law degree, and still not satisfied with his education he obtained an advanced law degree from Oxford University in England.
