Description | "MONTPELIER, Vt. - Lawrence Mott knew that Gov. Jim Douglas drives right past his mailbox on his daily commute to the Capitol.
So when Mott's car pool to work fell through, he called Douglas' office to see if he could hitch a ride. The governor obliged.
Douglas had his state police driver stop at the end of Mott's driveway high on the remote, steep, winding road that crosses the Appalachian Gap. They drove Mott down the mountain road to his office."
