Description | State Sen. Matt Murphy has been injured in the annual softball game between the Illinois House and Senate.
The Palatine Republican was hit in the left leg by a ball during the fifth inning on Wednesday. The game at Springfield's Lincoln Park was temporarily halted as lawmakers crowded around him, helped ice his leg and talked with him.
He was taken away from the game in an ambulance as lawmaker cheered. He responded with a peace sign from the stretcher. |
