Description | The veteran politician, now Baron Hattersley, was granted a decree nisi at London’s High Court because of the irretrievable breakdown of his relationship with wife Molly, 82.
District Judge Heather MacGregor signalled the end of the former Labour party deputy leader’s marriage on the grounds that the couple had been separated for five years – and he would find it intolerable to live with her.
The judge ruled “the marriage had irretrievably broken down, the facts found proved being five years separation”.
Lord Hattersley, 80, was entitled to a divorce after five years separation without the consent of his wife. |
