Description | Terry McAuliffe raised roughly$5.1 million for his Virginia gubernatorial bid in the first three months of the year, including a $100,000 check from a longtime friend — President Bill Clinton.
McAuliffe (D), who faces Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli II (R) in the closely watched race, had more than $5 million in the bank as of March 31. McAuliffe has long been known as a strong fundraiser. He served as Clinton’s handpicked Democratic National Committee chairman, and excelled at filling the party’s campaign coffers. |
