DescriptionBurglars broke into Rep. Darrell Issa's (R-Calif.) suburban San Diego home late last month, stealing more than 50 pieces of jewelry worth an estimated $100,000, the North County Times reported on Thursday.

The incident occurred between 6:40 p.m. and 7:20 p.m. on Nov. 29, according to a police report. Though detectives are currently exploring leads, no arrests have yet been made in the case, Jan Caldwell, spokeswoman for the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, told the Times.

Issa spokesman Frederick Hill said that the stolen items were "irreplaceable family heirlooms" that the congressman and his family had inherited, the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Issa, the former CEO of a car alarm company, is among the wealthiest members of Congress. According to OpenSecrets, he was worth between $195 million and $700 million as of 2010.
