DescriptionA former Missouri state representative has been indicted by a federal grand jury on charges of theft and fraud.

The five-count indictment accuses Raymond E. Salva, 65, of Sugar Creek, of receiving Social Security disability payments while serving in the Missouri Legislature.

Salva earned $30,000 per year as a member of the Missouri House of Representatives from January 2003 through December 2010. The indictment claims he also received $60,000 in disability payments that he was not entitled to. It also said he deliberately concealed his earnings in the Legislature in order to receive the payments.
