| Description | A source passed along the below press release — which was sent out to the Asian press in Queens — announcing the candidacy of Evergreen Chou in the NY-6 race. According to the release and a campaign website, Chou is petitioning to run on the Green Party line.
Assuming Chou makes the ballot, this development would not impact the four-way Democratic primary, but it does seem like having an Asian name on the ballot in the general election could well negatively impact the winner of that Democratic primary — and help Republican Councilman Dan Halloran. And because the Green Party got 50,000 votes in the last gubernatorial elections, it’s ballot line has far more prominent placement than it has in past elections. |
