Assemblyman Rory Lancman blasted the Queens Democratic Party Monday for allegedly launching a phony candidate into the hotly-contested race for the 6th Congressional seat.
Lancman's camp, citing a report in "City and State," called contender Jeffrey Gottlieb's late entry an attempt to "deceive Jewish voters and siphon votes away from Lancman."
Gottlieb, a patronage employee at the Board of Elections, began circulating petitions for a Congressional run over the weekend, Lancman's camp charged, calling the last-minute campaign a "cynical ploy to confuse Jewish voters." |
