Description | Wisconsin saw a loss of jobs for a sixth consecutive month in December, even as the national unemployment picture seems to be improving.
The state lost 3,900 private-sector jobs in December, following a loss of 23,800 private jobs from July to November, according to preliminary estimates from the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development.
That news comes as other reports released today showed the national economy improving. For instance, the number of people seeking unemployment benefits fell last week to 352,000, the fewest since April 2008, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. |
