DescriptionThe outgoing Missouri House 51st District representative is voicing concerns about a primary election candidate, who maintains his publicly made statements are true.

State Rep. Ray Salva, a Sugar Creek Democrat who has represented the 51st District since 2002 and is term limited, told The Examiner Thursday that he believes Democratic candidate Jeremy Ploeger is misrepresenting himself in the media and in campaign literature, including Ploeger’s statement in a recent mailer that he “was instrumental in writing Sam and Lindsey’s Law protecting our children.”

“That was my legislation, and he didn’t help draft it,” Salva said. “I wrote that legislation.”

The mailer includes a picture of Jeremy Ploeger and Tina Porter together and a supportive message from Tina Porter, the mother of Lindsey and Sam Porter. Lindsey and Sam’s father, Daniel, abducted and killed his children in 2004.
