Description | Tom Formicola of Little Rock announced his candidacy Monday for the U.S. Senate, saying that Arkansas needs a Republican U.S. senator because Republicans control the chamber and hold the White House.
Formicola, a former Maumelle alderman, is the second Republican to formally seek his party’s nomination to oppose U.S. Sen. Blanche Lincoln, a Democrat, in the Nov. 2 general election. State Sen. Jim Holt, R-Springdale, announced his candidacy Nov. 17.
