DescriptionJust days after she completed her 16th year on the Seattle City Council, Jan Drago was sworn in as an interim member of the Metropolitan King County Council this afternoon

King County Superior Court Judge Bruce Hilyer administered the oath of office shortly after the County Council voted 5-3 to replace Dow Constantine with Drago.

County Councilmember Larry Phillips, a Democrat, broke the deadlock when he joined Republicans in supporting Democrat Drago for the District 8 position.

Democrats, including Phillips, voted last month to appoint state Sen. Joe McDermott to the seat, which represents West Seattle, Vashon Island, Burien and other communities.
