DescriptionJim Holt, who got 44 percent of the vote as a Republican opponent to Sen. Blanche Lincoln in 2004, has not been coming to the phone for reporters.

But I've been monitoring his old website and it's been through an upgrade. Clicking the old url takes you now to jimholt2010.com

You can see above what it says.

The link on fund-raisers promotes a $1,000 fund-raiser at Ruth's Chris and a $100 event at Mad Pizza.

Raising funds for what? Jim Holt 2010. Whatever that means.

Maybe he's running for Benton County Quorum Court. Or maybe it's U.S. Senate. If so, that would make nine on the Republican side.

Play ball!

UPDATE: Tolbert adds more evidence that Holt is about to enter the race. Meanwhile on this front, operatives report Stanley Reed financial callers are hard at work (one from a fellow normally seen on a bond company's trading floor in the First Security building) pointing to a $1 million campaign chest by Dec. 31.
