Description | Steve Stoll, Democratic Candidate for the 3rd Congressional District, raised more money than any of his primary opponents, reports submitted to the FEC show.
Reports filed with the FEC will show that Stoll raised $130,133 in the third quarter ($170, 191 overall), with $116, 806 on hand at the end of the reporting period.
Stoll commented, “I have been overwhelmed by the support and generosity of the people who have decided to make a personal commitment to my campaign.”
Russ Carnahan only raised $85,164 for the third quarter. Carnahan’s cash on hand stood at $144,403.55, however that includes a $50,000 personal loan that Carnahan gave to his campaign at the end of the first quarter. Of his other opponents, Stoll out raised them at least 2 to 1.
“This quarter proves once and for all that I am the candidate best equipped to win this race and have all the momentum going into 2004.”
Stoll, 56, resides in Festus with his wife Kathy. They have four children and two, soon to be three, grandchildren. Prior to his 11-year career in the Missouri Legislature, he spent 20 years as a social studies teacher. |
