DescriptionHouse Republicans' top priority for the next 45 days is to permanently repeal a state property tax worth roughly $250 million to state coffers.

The education equalization tax has been on a three-year suspension but is slated to come back on state books in fiscal 2010. Former Gov. Janet Napolitano vetoed a similar effort to make permanent the tax suspension last year, saying the state couldn't turn away revenue while facing a significant budget shortfall.
