Description | Eddie Fair, the Hinds County tax collector, announced today that he is running to be the next mayor of Jackson.
Fair made the announcement outside of City Hall.
He has said that he will run as a Democrat on his record as tax collector. He was elected to that position in 2003 and again in 2007.
“The reason I'm running is because I love the city of Jackson,” he said.
Fair is one of nine men who say they plan to run for mayor. With the filing deadline still months away, no one has officially put in the paperwork to become a candidate.
Candidates must file by March 6. The general election is June 2. |
