DescriptionQUEBEC -- Two members of the Opposition Action democratique du Quebec are jumping to the governing Liberals.

Premier Jean Charest held a news conference in Quebec City today to say Andre Riedl and Pierre Michel Auger have decided to sit in the national assembly as Liberals.

The defections give the Liberals 48 of the 125 seats in the legislature and reduce the ADQ caucus to 39.

The Parti Quebecois has 36 seats, while there are two vacancies.
