Childers Wins; Democrats Pick Up Republican Seat

| Description | The Associated Press has called Mississippi's first congressional district for Democrat Travis Childers, giving Democrats a seat held by Republicans since 1994.
Democrats now have a 37 seat majority in the House of Representatives.
Childers will serve at least until next January -- he faces a normal election in November. |
