Description | State Sen. Martha Bark, R-Medford, announced Wednesday she will not run for re-election this November and is retiring from public life.
The 78-year-old senator, who began her public career as a member of the Medford school board 38 years ago, said she is stepping down out of frustration with the partisan atmosphere in Trenton and to spend more time with her family.
In a prepared statement, she made no mention of a state investigation that has clouded her reputation recently and a spokesman, Ed Waters, said she would have no comment beyond the remarks in a news release. |
