Description | "It didn't take long for Republican Senate President John Bennett and Democratic challenger Ellen Karcher to start swinging.
The two 12th Legislative District Senate candidates are opening their campaigns by airing cable television ads attacking each other for having shoddy ethics.
The district, which includes East Windsor, Hightstown and part of Monmouth County, is one of the most closely watched legislative races in the state this year because Bennett, R-Little Silver, New Jersey's highest-ranking Republican, is fighting for his political life amid an ethics scandal."
