| Description | Southern Arizona lost a moderate Republican voice with the primary loss of Sen. Toni Hellon, members of both major parties say.
Hellon lost her District 26 GOP primary race to political newcomer Al Melvin, who ran on a strong border security and gun ownership platform.
"I do think this will be a negative thing for southern Arizona," Hellon said last night.
"I can't begin to stress how difficult it is for us to get our fair share for southern Arizona from the Legislature." |
