| Description | (Columbia-AP) July 14, 2006 - West Columbia Senator Jake Knotts says he is wrapping up his petition drive to be on the ballot in November as a challenger to Governor Mark Sanford.
Sanford and Knotts both are Republicans. Knotts launched his petition drive after Sanford's win over challenger Oscar Lovelace in the June 13th primary.
Knotts needs at least 10,000 signatures to get on the ballot. He says supporters had more than 7,000 signatures last night from around the state. |
