DescriptionLITTLE ROCK Former state treasurer Jimmie Lou Fisher suffered an apparent stroke today and was admitted to Saint Vincent Infirmary Medical Center in Little Rock.

A colleague says the 64-year-old Fisher initially suffered some paralysis in her legs but her condition was improving.

Fisher is chairwoman for Dustin McDaniel's campaign for the Democratic nomination for state attorney general. She was state treasurer for 20 years before making an unsuccessful bid for governor in 2002, losing to Mike Huckabee.
