Description | Mayor Nagin’s comments on Monday have unexpectedly turned profitable for one business.
Minutes after watching Mayor Nagin’s Martin Luther King Day speech, Kenner entrepreneur Dolph Federico gathered the design team at his local graphics company.
“We all heard the speech, jaws hit the floor like he didn’t say that, and we started saying what can we do?” said Federico.
It was easy for Federico; his business designs and sells t-shirts. Tuesday morning he started selling his speech inspired shirts, along with bumper stickers and hats on the internet.
“I thought we might sell a couple of dozen t-shirts, if we lose a couple of bucks it's fun, but this thing just took off,” said Federico.
So far Federico has sold about 3,000 t-shirts at $20 a piece.
