DescriptionW. Cleon Skousen, a former Brigham Young University professor, writer, FBI agent and Salt Lake City police chief died Monday of natural causes at his Salt Lake City home.

Skousen was just 11 days shy of his 93rd birthday.

He was born in Raymond, Alberta, Canada on Jan. 20, 1913. He and his wife, Jewel, had eight children, 50 grandchildren and 69 great-grandchildren. He earned his juris doctor at George Washington University.

Skousen was a prolific writer, having authored 46 books, including "The Naked Communist," "The Naked Capitalist," "So You Want To Raise a Boy?," "The Making of America," "The Five Thousand Year Leap" and "Fantastic Victory." He also wrote books on religion, including "Treasures from the Book of Mormon" and "The First 2,000 Years."

In addition to writing, Skousen worked under J. Edgar Hoover for 16 years as a special agent, an assistant to Hoover and director of communications. He served as editor of the police magazine, Law and Order.
