Description | Legislation passed Tuesday has fixed the date for provincial elections in Ontario at four-year intervals.
The new law means that the next Ontario election will be held on Oct. 4, 2007.
Subsequent campaigns will be held every four years, with voters going to the polls in election years on the first Thursday in October.
By passing the law, Ontario becomes the second province (after British Columbia) to fix its election dates. |
