Listen up for the latest rundown on potential Republican gubernatorial wannabes. Last time we checked, Mary Peters, former director of the Arizona Department of Transportation, had just bowed out of the race with a little residency problem. Now, the frantic behind-the-scenes search for a top contender continues.
First off, Senate President Ken Bennett, who decided not to run in October, is now singing a different tune, kinda.
"I've had calls from people," Bennett said. "I wouldn't say I'm reconsidering, but you have to keep your options open."
Conservative crusader Len Munsil, leader of the Center for Arizona Policy, is also talking to people about jumping into the race. |
