Description | Republican National Committeeman Randy Pullen took his name out of consideration for Arizona's governor's race Tuesday.
Pullen, a prominent figure in the 2004 passage of the Proposition 200 immigration initiative, had been strongly considering a run for the Republican nomination in 2005 to take on Democratic Gov. Janet Napolitano.
But Pullen said Tuesday he has too much on his plate. In addition to other projects, Pullen is chairing a 2006 initiative to force school districts to spend 65 cents of every education tax dollar in the classroom, rather than the 58 cents they spend on average now. |
