Description | Former Federal Highway Administration director Mary Peters has dropped out of the Arizona governor's race.
Peters, a Valley Republican, Thursday said she has decided not to run for governor against Democratic incumbent Janet Napolitano next year.
Peters had been meeting with top business leaders, lobbyists and GOP lawmakers regarding a run.
However, another Republican gubernatorial candidate John Greene questioned Peters' eligibility to run since she had lived and voted in Virginia while serving in the Bush administration. |
