Description | Democratic Gov. Janet Napolitano recently received a lovely letter from back East praising her for "diligence and courage" on border issues. You'll never guess who sent it. It reads: "I appreciate your diligence and courage in tackling this important issue on behalf of both Arizona and our nation. I hope your actions inspire the federal government to act as well."
Any guesses? Hillary Clinton? Nope. John Kerry? Try again.
Does the name Bob Barr, U.S. House of Representatives emeritus, ring a bell? That's right, the dispatch came from the former Georgia congressman and GOP firebrand who spearheaded the Clinton impeachment trial. It's safe to say that Barr is not a squishy RINO (Republican In Name Only), and we're guessing he doesn't have a lot of other Democratic pen pals. Barr's letter came just two days after Napolitano declared an emergency at the border in August. We gave Barr a call, and he told the Insider:
"What prompted me was we finally have two governors (Napolitano and New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson) finally doing what the federal government should have been doing all along," Barr said. "That is, that we truly have an emergency on our southern border. She actually did something." |
