| Description | LA GRANGE, Texas - State Rep. Joseph Moreno of Houston was killed and a Dallas legislator was injured early Friday in a one-vehicle accident as they were returning to Austin after an NBA game.
Moreno, 40, was driving a 2004 four-door pickup west on Texas 71 about 2 a.m., when he veered off the roadway to the left, overcorrected to the right, then entered the westbound ditch and overturned multiple times, said Tom Vinger, a spokesman with the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Moreno died at the scene. State Rep. Rafael Anchia, D-Dallas, and Monica Lisa Pinon, chief of staff to state Rep. Joseph Pickett of El Paso, were taken to Brackenridge Hospital in Austin, Vinger said. |
