Description | As the week in Arizona winds to a close, Republicans are wondering who will rise up from their ranks to pose a strong challenge to Janet Napolitano in the 2006 gubernatorial election. Congressman J.D. Hayworth announced on Wednesday that he will not enter the race, choosing instead to maintain his role in the House Ways and Means Committee in Congress.
Hayworth easily won a February poll on the GOPUSA/Arizona website, outpolling the combined totals of six other Republicans. The GOP field is now completely wide open.
Keith DeGreen, a Scottsdale financial planner and investment advisor, spoke to the Pachyderm Coalition, a conservative organization in West Phoenix, on Wednesday to make his case for the Republican nomination. He spoke like a conservative.
