Description | DAKAR, Senegal, Feb. 25 - Three weeks after the military installed him to succeed his father as Togo's president, Faure Gnassingbé bowed to intense international pressure on Friday, saying in an address on state-controlled radio that he would step down immediately.
"I have decided to step down from the office of president in the interest of Togo," Mr. Gnassingbé said. |
