Description | MONTREAL (CP) - Social Development Minister Liza Frulla had her election victory confirmed Tuesday night after a judicial recount.
Frulla won Jeanne-Le-Ber riding by 72 votes. Originally, Frulla was declared a winner by 464 votes over Thierry St-Cyr of the Bloc Quebecois but a review of tally sheets from the June 28 election narrowed Frulla's margin of victory to 35 votes. The news comes as good news to the Liberals, who elected 135 MPs in last week's vote to form a minority government. |
