1. Tell me a little about where you are from and your upbringing.
I am the son of a Presbyterian minister, fourth of four sons, and grew up in the Deep South all my life, though my mother’s family was an immigrant family that settled in Baltimore, Maryland. On the one hand we had a traditional family with the “traditional values” but my parents encouraged diversity and culture. I spent the better part of my life finding who I was, a rather troubled early part of my life, but when I came out of the closet it just seemed like my life seemed to settle and living a more honest life, instead of a lie, has made me a happier, more balanced, and more secure individual. |
