| Description | This new riding contains the central-west part of Burnaby.
It is bounded by Boundary Road, border with Vancouver, to Imperial Street then east on Imperial/Mayfield to Lakefield Drive; north along Lakefield/Trans-Canada Highway to Gilpin Street; west along Gilpin Street/Deer Lake Avenue/Deer Lake Parkway to Willingdon; then north on Willingdon to Canada Way; west on Canada Way to Boundary Road.
It includes Central Park in the SW corner as well as Deer Lake Park and Deer Lake.
In 2006 census, immigrant population was 58%; 34% gave Chinese as mother tongue and 4% gave Korean.
Visible minority population was 61.7% - 38% Chinese; 7% South Asian.
Redistribution
Riding created in 2008 redistribution from 75% Burnaby-Willingdon; 19% Burnaby-Edmonds. |
