| Description | Body had been the "People's Assembly" formed in 1971, the lower house of a bicameral Parliament, until it was dissolved in June 14, 2012 and (seemingly) abandoned. The body re-emerged as the "House of Representatives" in 2015 authorized via Chapter 5 of the 2014 constitution. Election legislation was signed into law on June 5, 2014 and the first election in the new body was held on October 17-18, 2015. The House opened on January 10, 2016. The House consists of 596 members. |
