| Description | In 1907, the Bhutanese dynasty was established. In 1971, it joined the United Nations and became its 128th member. Constitutional monarchism and democracy was established under the fifth Bhutanese king Jigme Gesar Wangchuk, who was inaugurated on November 11, 2008. The king is the supreme commander in chief of the Armed Forces and the Militia of Bhutan. |
