| Description | Unicameral legislative body formed after the dissolution of the Leningrad City Council on December 21, 1993. The Assembly's legislative power was established on the basis of the newly-adopted Charter of Saint Petersburg (Устава Санкт-Петербурга), which came into law on January 14, 1998. The Assembly consists of 50 deputies elected by city residents under a proportional system for a term of 5 years. |
