Description | This riding, which takes in the area in the west-central part of Surrey, is significantly changed in redistribution; it kept only 52% of the riding while adding 40% from Surrey-Newton.
It now runs between the Surrey border with Delta in the west and 148th Street/92nd Avenue/144th Street in the east; between 96th Avenue/140th Street/100th Avenue in the north and 75th Avenue/128th Street/80th Avenue/Bear Creek in the south.
In the 2006 census, the immigrant population was 50%; 41% gave Punjabi as mother tongue which was the highest in B.C..
The visible minority population was 70%; 57% of which was South Asian.
The average family income was the second lowest in B.C.. |
