| Description | This riding, created in 1971, is located in northwest Calgary and largely comprises a strip of land on the south bank of the Bow River, stretching from the city limits in the west to 37th Street in the east. In the 2004 redistribution, part of the north boundary of the riding was extended across the Bow River to take in a large area formerly belonging to Calgary-North West.
Professional services and retail are the major employers in Calgary-Bow. Average incomes, at $75,151, are well above the provincial average, and 9.2 per cent of families are low income. More than 14 per cent of residents are immigrants. Slightly over half of residents were born in Alberta. |
