Description | Until 1989, the Prime Minister was called "President of the Government." Prime Ministers serve for five years.
The Prime Minister leads a Council of Government ("Conseil de gouvernement") which consists of the Prime Minister and his ministers, which meet on a weekly basis to administer the country.
Decisions, of which the Prime Minister has the casting vote, are submitted to the Grand Duke for consideration.
