| Description | U.S. Space Force base operated and controlled by Space Base Delta 1 (SBD 1), a unit of the U.S. Space Force. Base was granted to the U.S. by the Kingdom of Denmark within the framework of the 1951 Greenland Defense Agreement. Base was originally established in 1943 as weather stations by the U.S. Army Air Forces. Base is neither independent of the autonomous territory of Greenland nor part of it and is technically called an "enclave." |
