Description | This riding west of Quebec City is mainly urban and residential, composed of the former cities of Cap-Rouge, Sillery and Ste-Foy. There are 13 colleges and universities in the area, including Laval University. Jean Lesage International Airport is in the northwest part of the riding.
Government services and education services are the major employers in this riding as well as health and social services.
According to the 2001 census, more than 28 per cent of the population has a university degree. Almost 92 per cent of the population cited French as a mother tongue. The average family income is $78,541 with an unemployment rate of 6.9 per cent. Almost 44 per cent of the occupied dwellings are rented.
There were no changes in either of the 1996 or 2004 redistributions. The riding was established in 1966.
