Info | Mr. Edwards was appointed to the Commission of Investigation in 1997 by Governor Christine Whitman. An attorney since December 1970, he is managing partner in the law firm of Edwards & Caldwell, with offices in Hawthorne and Trenton. Mr. Edwards served as New Jersey Attorney General from 1986 to 1989, prior to which he was chief counsel to Governor Thomas H. Kean between 1982 and 1986. He was elected to the New Jersey General Assembly in 1977 and served three terms and was a member of the Borough Council in Oakland between 1975 and 1979. He has served as an adjunct faculty member of Seton Hall University and the Eagleton Institute of Government, Politics and Public Policy at Rutgers University. A graduate of Seton Hall, Mr. Edwards earned his law degree in 1970 from Seton Hall University Law School. He resides in Oakland.
